Trying out the Filter
There are several ways that you can get a feel for the way the filter works:
1. Check the filter list: You can view any site to determine if it is filtered. Actually filtering depends on the filter list classification and the age classification of the site.
2. System Hardware: Try the remote demo: The iWayPatrol filter can be run by pointing your proxy to the demo site. The instructions for setting up the proxy in your browser are available by down load. Sending a request will get you an id and password which you can use while using the demo program.
3. Demo Installation: iTECH will provide a demo installation to potential customers. Be aware that since the iWayPatrol is a server based system, a site demo requires a mutual investment time and effort to complete.
4. Guarantee Performance: iTECH Inc. stands behind the product and guarantees your satisfaction or we will cancel any charges and remove the product.
Pricing
The cost of the installing and using the iWayPatrol filter has four parts:
1. Software License Fee: The license fee is a one time, flat fee which includes the software, the proxy software as necessary, and the use of the software on one computer. The license fee is scaled to the size of the district and features. Generally the prices range from $999 to $3,500.
2. System Hardware: The iWayPatrol District filter is available on three standard platforms forms:
iTECH Intel Filter Server (Celeron or Pentium)
iTECH Qube Filter Server (Cobalt or Gateway)
iTECH Sun Filter Server (Netra X1 or Sun Blade)
Price is dependent on speed, size and configuration required for the expected number of users. Generally the prices range from $1,250 upward. Custom systems are available for larger Districts. Hardware can be optionally provided by the school district.
3. Installation: Installation of the operating system software, the filter software, proxy software takes an estimated 4 to 8 hours. On site installation and training support takes 6 to 10 hours. The iTECH standard service rates apply. Interfacing the administrative computer data base to generate the names and password can take 8 to 16 hours.
4. List and Software Maintenance: There is a large number of individuals and organizations busily creating new problematic sites everyday. iTECH provides a weekly update to the blocking list via the Internet. The update is performed by iTECH staff, not the District. The monthly maintenance fee is scaled to the number of Internet computers on the filter network. The monthly fee covers updates to the software. As improvements are made subscribers receive updates with the additional features available.
Since the size, growth, needs and existing network of each district are unique, a quote based on some additional information is necessary. Please contact us by phone at 414-755-1797 or 886-218-8467 or by Email at itech-info@itech-mke.com
