iTECH has developed a Web Filter, a News Filter and a Mail Filter to meet the needs of the largest school districts in the county.   The iWayPatrol Metro School District Filter Package can be customized to combine the features of the Standard Filter and the Advanced Filter with the features of the iTECH Email server/filter/reader.   Some of the features are:

• it is scaleable as the Internet grows within the large district

• it can be integrated into the District's student administration system

• it permits Building Level shared responsibility with District Administration

• it integrates with E-Mail Service for 10's or 100's of thousands of students

• it integrates with iTECH's E-Mail filtering services.

Scaleable:   iWayPatrol software can be run on multiple hardware platforms to service the school district.  It can also be run on Enterprise sized hardware involving multiple processors.  The point is that the hardware can be multiplied or upgraded as the system utilization grows.

Integrated with the District Administration System:    Using a standard data format, information from the Districts Administrative Computer can be regularly used to update the iWayPatrol user database.   Changes in student status and buildings due to  grade advancement, transfer, the arrival of new students and departure of students from the district are maintained once in the administrative computer.  Weekly or daily data are then transferred to update the Filter Data Base.

Building Level Internet Responsibility:  In a large district it is very difficult for the District technology staff to deal with the day to day administrative needs of the Internet.  iWayPatrol for Large Schools has built in building level administration.  The design permits the utilization of one or more technology coordinators at each building within the district.   The building technology coordinator can access and modify records of students who are assigned to that building.  They deal with disciplinary restrictions of access, AUP approval forms, filter levels and passwords through a series of easy to use administrative screens and printouts.

Integrates with E-Mail Service:  LargEmail is product designed for Large Schools also developed by iTECH Inc.  It is an E-Mail service  for 10's of thousands or even 100's of thousands of students.  As an integral companion of  iWayPatrol for Large Schools, it permits the common use of the student filter data base to provide access information for the student E-Mail services.   Faculty can  also be incorporated into the largEmail.

Integrates with E-Mail Filtering Services:    safeEmail, also developed by iTECH Inc. applies pattern content analysis to either incoming or outgoing student E-Mail.  Typically, safeEmail is set up so that student E-Mail transmission which contains crude language is bounced to the person with building level Internet responsibility for that student.  A message is returned to the student, indicating the mail was not transmitted.  The Building Internet Coordinator or the appropriate counselor review the problem with the student and take disciplinary steps through the Building Level Administration software.
